Country Home - Resort Home

My mum has a kampung home located on some 3 acres of land. The house was built at the frontage land near to the main road. So there are more land space at the back that I can make use of it. The idea of building a chalet struck my mine when I saw stack piles of wood planks that have been shelved for sometimes, enough to cater for my needs. Before constructing the real chalet, I constructed a model for getting the view of it. After satisfying with the model, I started my plan to construct the chalet. I have the feeling that I can build it myself as I have some hands-on craftmanship skills. I will name my chalet as 'The Cabin'.
The blog was written after I have finished building the cabin.

Those woods for the beams, I purchased from the junkyard outlet. Its really cheap as compared to those fresh woods.
As for the wall partition, I used from the ex-stock. Total cost of materials estimated at Ringgit Malaysia 3K. Construction time around 2 weeks.

With the presence of The Cabin, I have more ideas to work on, at least killing my idling time. I gathered those thrown away stones and pebbles surrounding the cabin and created a landscape on its own. Several wild flowers have been planted, awaiting to creep and beautified the landscape. I managed to transport left over railway sleeper (heavy wood) and make a bench in front of the cabin. Do come by, sit around and have a cup of coffee. I might erect low wooden fence taken from nearby forest that will act as a border for the cabin. Next will be a toilet that have 6 feet height partition with no roof. Something like those old kampung house where I don't care about peeping tom. Water source definitely from the land, taken some 6 feet underground, a real mineral water (the land have plenty of spring water underneath) Electricity? emm..thinking of using gasoline type look, but with energy saving light.

The Cabin, situated in suburb area in Batu Kikir, Negri Sembilan. The surrounding is peacefull and greeny. Its sort of 'home-stay' environment that for sure everyone likes it.

Here, I publish it in this blog for those interested in building one.
